| Focal Organization of Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) framework. |
The Civil Service Selection and Training Department (CSSTD) is currently playing as a role of focal organization of ARC activities which are conducted as an obligation of a member orgainzation of ASEAN Conference on Civil Service Matter (ACCSM), one of the on-going activities of ASEAN. The theme of the ARC is "Training of Trainers". |
At the fourth ASEAN Informal Summit held in Singapore on 22-25 November 2000, the Singapore Government announced a framework to assist the integration of the newer member countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) into ASEAN. Titled "Initiative for ASEAN Integration" or IAI, the framework encompasses a variety of programmes aimed at developing the human resources of these countries. |
In this respect, the CSSTD is taking the responsibility of a focal organization to enhance the capacity of Myanmar Civil Service by conducting the various training courses in collaboration with ASEAN Secretariat office and and coordinating with Signapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) sponsored by Singapore Government. |
There are nine training courses scheduled to conduct in 2006 under the auspices of ASEAN Secretariat and 20 officals of government organizations can participate in each course. Also the current accomplishment programmes are to be held in Myanmar-Signapore Training Center, Yangon in 2005-06 and Myanmar officials can join these programmes 20 number per each. |
